You may qualify* for the program if you answer yes to the following:

1. You are currently on Employment Insurance or have been in the last 3 years.
2. You are an unemployed Albertan.
3. You have not started your business already.

Steps to Enrollment:

1. Contact MKS Learning at 403.253.8484 and register for our next Orientation Session.
2. Complete Self Assessment & Feasibility Package:
   1. Self-Assessment and Feasibility Study (download PDF / MS Word)
   2. Twelve month family/personal budget (click here to download)
   3. Alberta Works Client Application (click here to download)
   4. Current Resume
3. Return completed Application Package to MKS Learning Centre.
4. MKS Learning Centre will contact you to schedule an interview.
5. Upon acceptance into the SE Program you will be given an Income Support Application form (for those that qualify).

* Back Eligibility Requirements for Self-Employment Program Warning: Just because you are eligible for the program does not guarantee that AHR&E and MKS Learning Centre will accept your business into the program. Your business must be determined to be viable by both AHR&E and MKS Learning Centre. Please note that in the past we have received many more applications than available enrollment spots available.
